Koala Hospital Port Macquarie

Koala Hospital Port Macquarie

I want to introduce the first highlight of the route from Sydney to Brisbane. It is particularly beautiful. It truly makes dreams come true!

Perhaps you are one of those travellers to Australia who would love to see a koala up close. If so, I have great news for you! That’s precisely what’s possible – at the Koala Hospital in the coastal town of Port Macquarie.

Injured or orphaned koala bears have been admitted there and nursed back to health for many decades. After successful rehabilitation, the staff even released them back into the wild. Very restricted koala bears can stay at the Koala Hospital forever and have a safe place to live.

The Koala Hospital offers free guided tours, and admission is free. It’s a great place to learn about Australia’s endangered national animal. Plus, the koala bears are super cute to look at.

The Blue Mountains National Park is worthwhile because of its spectacular viewpoints, beautiful waterfalls, and fascinating rock formations.

For example, the famous “Three Sisters” are waiting to be marvelled at. The trio of imposing rock formations offer a fantastic sight and a great photo opportunity. Hiking enthusiasts will also get their money’s worth in the national park.

The Grand Canyon Track leads into an exciting gorge with many beautiful places to discover. Those who prefer a more leisurely approach are in good hands at the pretty Wentworth Falls. Short hiking trails lead to the waterfall, which flows into an impressive gorge. From there, one of the many fantastic views of the Blue Mountains awaits visitors.

One thing is sure: the Blue Mountains National Park is one of the top highlights from Sydney to Brisbane!

Waterfall Way

The beautiful Waterfall Way, which connects the coast of New South Wales with the hinterland, offers pure variety. It is an accurate insider tip and is one of the top sights on the trip from Brisbane to Sydney (and vice versa)! It is also one of the five most beautiful sights on the East Coast.

The excellent route combines a variety of national parks that are home to exciting places worth seeing. For example, you will find fabulous waterfalls. For instance, Ebor, surrounded by a mystical forest, plunges into the depths of a gorge.

The second-highest waterfall in Australia is also located on the Waterfall Way. The spectacular Wollomombi Falls plunge into depths of up to 220 metres. It is simply a marvellous sight!

The beautiful Dorrigo National Park offers a change of scenery. One of the most beautiful hikes through the rainforest awaits you there. It allows you to immerse yourself in the fascinating flora of this unique form of vegetation. Idyllic waterfalls included, of course!

Byron Bay

Cape Byron Lighthouse

Of course, the coast should not be missed on the road trip from Sydney to Brisbane! The sexy coastal paradise of Byron Bay is extremely popular with tourists and locals alike. Hardly surprising. After all, it scores points with its turquoise blue sea, chilled beaches, and great surf waves.
