Itinerary

Embarking on Victoria’s renowned Great Ocean Road is an essential experience. Someday, let us unveil the splendour of this seaside path, guiding you through unspoiled beaches, lush rainforests, and striking limestone cliffs.

Marvel at the 12 Apostles – these magnificent rock structures stand just off the coast of Port Campbell National Park in Victoria. Immerse yourself in the breathtaking landscape and listen as our experts share tales and historical insights that have moulded this magnificent shoreline.

Departing from Melbourne, we venture towards the Surf Coast, traversing charming coastal villages like Anglesea, Lorne, and Airey’s Inlet. We pause en route for a morning refreshment, savouring the ocean breeze and observing surfers riding the waves. Discover why this area offers excellent surfing conditions and the necessity of wetsuits, owing to its closeness to Antarctica.
Make a stop at the Great Ocean Road’s commemorative site, signifying the original commencement point of the road. Capture memories at the famed Memorial Arch and learn about the history of the soldiers who constructed this road as a tribute to their lost brethren. As we continue, we’ll encounter more breathtaking vistas, pausing for photo opportunities!

During the journey, there will be stops along the Great Ocean Road in search of Koalas in their natural habitat. Although their appearance cannot be guaranteed, our experienced guides are familiar with the best locations in the bush where they can be spotted resting.

During the lunch break, guests can visit Apollo Bay (approximately 45 minutes) at their own expense. After exploring Apollo Bay, purchasing souvenirs, or enjoying ice cream, the tour continues to the Great Otway National Park.

We continue on the Great Ocean Road into the Great Otway National Park. The lush green hills surround us as we drive past tall Eucalyptus trees. Eventually, we reach a section of Cool, Temperate Rainforest. Walking through the tree ferns, we are awestruck by the ancient Myrtle Beach trees. These trees offer a beautiful canopy shade and have been around since Australia was part of Gondwanaland. Enjoy the fresh air before we embark on a scenic drive to the dramatic Shipwreck Coast.
After leaving the forest and reaching the Southern Ocean, we reach Port Campbell National Park, known for the famous 12 Apostles. We will spend approximately 40 minutes at the Apostles, where you can appreciate the views from various perspectives, stroll along the boardwalks, and capture stunning pictures of this untamed and picturesque coastline.
In the National Park, visitors can explore Loch Ard Gorge, the location of one of Australia’s famous shipwrecks. They can learn about the story of Tom and Eva and then venture to the beach to search for caves. Additionally, this area is known for rock formations like Island Archway, Razorback, and the ‘Salt and Pepper Shakers.’
After a full day of exploring, we bid farewell to the Great Ocean Road and returned to Melbourne via country roads. We pass through farmlands on our way to the country town of Colac. Here, guests can grab a quick bite for dinner (at their own expense) before we arrive back home in Melbourne around 8:30 pm.
