Itinerary

In one day, we offer a trip from Melbourne to explore the notable features of the beautiful Grampians National Park.

Visitors can admire the ancient landscape, featuring rugged mountain ranges and stunning sandstone ridges, which will transport them back in time. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, the tour provides a deeper understanding of the region’s countryside and history.

Heading west for 250 km, we pass through rural areas rich in Victorian Goldrush heritage. Along the way, we stop in one of several charming towns to explore their mining history and indulge in morning tea or coffee.

After arriving in Grampians National Park, visitors can explore the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre to learn about the creation stories that shape this diverse landscape. The cultural centre offers opportunities to observe local Wildlife, such as wallabies, emus, and echidnas. Gain a deeper understanding of the importance of Gariwerd to the Indigenous community.

Reeds Lookout provides expansive views of Lake Wartook, the Victoria Valley, and the Mount Difficult Range.

Afterwards, we can hike along a shaded path that passes through gum trees and interesting rock formations, leading us to The Balconies. You can admire this spot’s renowned ‘jaws of death’ while taking in the magnificent views and scenery featured in the Japanese Animation’ Princess Mononoke’.

The Victoria Valley is home to a well-known waterfall, where visitors can hike to experience the impressive amount of water and feel the refreshing spray of the air.

The hike is approximately 250 steps to the base and back, and if you prefer a more superficial, level walk across the top of the falls, that is perfectly acceptable.

If Mackenzie Falls is inaccessible, a tranquil hike to Silverband Falls would be offered as an alternative.

A stop at the Boroka lookout offers a picturesque view of the beautiful scenery. Depending on the weather and visibility, we may also visit Lake Bellfield to take a walk along the damn and experience the grandeur between the two mountain ranges.

You will probably encounter various Australian birds, such as kookaburras and emus, during your visit to the Grampians. However, we assure you that you will not depart the area without sighting a kangaroo.

Visitors can sometimes see echidnas and wallabies in the area. It is important to note that feeding wild animals is prohibited, but be sure to have a charged camera battery.

At some point, we need to return to the city. The journey from the Grampians takes around 3 hours and includes a break to buy dinner (at your own cost). After a day of exploration, take some time to relax and contemplate. You can expect to arrive in Melbourne around 8.30 pm and be dropped off at your initial pick-up spot or near public transportation.
