Itinerary

The Perth to Exmouth 7-day tour starts in Perth at 7:25 am and heads north along the coastline towards the Indian Ocean. During the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to take a guided walk through the rock formations of the Pinnacles Desert. As night falls, you’ll pass through Geraldton before staying overnight in Kalbarri.

Meals: Lunch & Dinner. Accommodation: Kalbarri Backpackers YHA (Dorm – shared bathroom facilities). Driving Distance: 575km. Hike Distance: 2km Grade 1-2.

Today, explore Kalbarri National Park. See Nature’s Window, a stunning rock formation. Hike the Z Bend trail for the best views of the park. In the afternoon, head to Shark Bay and visit a beach of white cockle shells. Stay in Monkey Mia tonight.

 

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner. Accommodation: RAC Monkey Mia Resort Backpacker Dorms or a similar option with shared bathroom facilities. Activity options: Kalbarri Abseiling at Z-Bend. Driving distance: 450km. Hike distance: 3km with a grade of 3-4.

 

Begin your day with an exciting adventure at Kalbarri National Park by abseiling down the gorge walls with Kalbarri Abseil. No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be given on-site. All necessary equipment will be provided. Capture the memories on your camera, as non-participants can take photos for you. This activity can be arranged during your tour.

This morning, you will witness a well-known wildlife event in Australia. The Monkey Mia Dolphins will swim to shore and be fed by hand in shallow water. Afterwards, relax on the stunning coastline before visiting the Stromatolites. These rock formations, created by a single-celled microbe, are still alive and believed to be 3.7 billion years old. You will journey to Coral Bay tonight and spend the night on the edge of Ningaloo Reef.

 

Meals include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Accommodation is provided in Ningaloo Coral Bay Backpacker Dorms or a similar option with shared bathroom facilities. The driving distance is 580km, and the hike distance is 2km with a Grade 1 difficulty level.

Explore the Ningaloo Reef in Coral Bay for a day. Snorkel the vibrant reefs steps away from the beach. Take a tour to explore reefs further offshore. Relax on the beach and enjoy the sun.

 

Meals include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Accommodation is at Potshot Hotel Resort Backpacker Dorms or a similar option with shared bathroom facilities. Activities include swimming with Manta Rays, snorkelling Ningaloo Reef, and taking glass-bottom boat tours. Please note that guests cannot book Whaleshark Swims on this day as they return after the bus has left Coral Bay. The driving distance is 155km, and the grade is 1.

You can swim with Manta Rays on the Ningaloo Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours. Please note that this activity is only available for competent swimmers and requires snorkelling.

 

Coral Bay Ecotours offers a 5-6 hour tour of the Ningaloo Reef. The tour includes all necessary equipment, such as wetsuits if needed, and provides morning and afternoon tea. A buffet-style lunch of cold meats and salads is also included. During the tour, you can witness the mesmerizing dance of the manta rays and enjoy two snorkelling sessions to observe stunning fish, corals, and possibly sea turtles and reef sharks. Additionally, the tour includes visiting the turtle sanctuary, where you can watch turtles coming up for a breath in the shallows.

 

Experience the Ningaloo Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours’ Glass Bottom Boat.

 

Take a tour of the Ninglao Reef with Coral Bay Ecotours. They have a glass bottom boat for you to see the fish and corals. You can choose between a 1, 2 or 3-hour journey. The 1 hour is only for glass viewing. The 2-hour journey includes glass viewing and a snorkel site. The 3-hour journey includes glass viewing, snorkelling, and visiting the turtle sanctuary. You can watch turtles feeding and coming up for air in the shallows at the refuge. The skipper may even try to get the turtles under the glass for you. Snorkel tours provide equipment.

 

Guests cannot book Whaleshark Swims on [day 4] as they return after the bus has already departed Coral Bay. All optional activities in Coral Bay must be completed by 3:45-4:00 pm.

Today, you will be exploring Cape Range National Park. You will witness breathtaking views of rugged limestone ranges, deep canyons, and 50km of pristine beaches. During your visit, you can enjoy the beauty of Turquoise Bay, explore Vlamingh Head Lighthouse, relax at Milyering Visitors Center, and more. The tour will conclude in the late afternoon, ensuring an incredible end to your Perth to Exmouth tour.

 

The meals provided are breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The accommodation is at the Potshot Hotel Resort Backpacker Dorms or a similar option with shared bathroom facilities. Two options are available: swimming with Whalesharks (Mar-Sep) or Humpbacks (Aug-Oct), but pre-booking is required. The driving distance is 135km. The hike distance is 1km with a grade of 1-2.

The Exmouth Dive Centre offers the opportunity to swim with Whalesharks and Humpback Whales during the seasonal period of March to August. Snorkelling is available, but only for competent swimmers.

 

Experience an unforgettable day at Exmouth Dive Centre. Start with a snorkel at the reef, admiring the coral gardens and fish. Keep an eye out for turtles and reef sharks. Next, join the search for humpback whales and whale sharks with the help of a spotter plane. The humpback whale swim depends on their willingness to participate. If they’re uncooperative, the plane will find another group. All equipment is provided, including wetsuits if needed. Enjoy morning and afternoon tea, as well as a buffet-style lunch.

Today, you start your road trip back to Perth. It will be a long drive with many kilometres to cover. We will keep you entertained during the journey. Before our final overnight stop in Geraldton, the group will have dinner at The Murchison Tavern. You can enjoy discounted meals, but you must pay for them.

 

The meals provided are breakfast and lunch, and the accommodation is in Geraldton Accommodation Backpacker Dorms or a similar option with shared bathroom facilities. The driving distance is 785km.

Experience the HMAS Sydney Memorial in Geraldton. Enjoy stunning views while walking along the three-bay walk at Green Head. Explore the dunes of Lancelin and consider climbing them for added excitement. The return to Perth is in the late afternoon. Relax on the bus and enjoy the scenic countryside views before returning to Perth. Drop-off starts around 6:00 pm.

 

The itinerary includes breakfast, a driving distance of 465km, and a hike distance of 1km with a grade level ranging from 1 to 3.
